Most surgeries are done in a hospital in the mountain region of Del Rio in Cuenca, the third biggest city of Ecuador. The physicians dispense with their salary and the hospital only insists on a contribution to the fees. Besides, HKIE assumes the costs for drugs and makes sure the relatives of the child can live close to their children. To serve this purpose HKI has arranged for a house with several rooms. Foundation
